SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
1) Dark red skin, at times including blistering.
2) Sunburn victim is running a high fever
3) Sunburned person is feeling dizzy, out of sorts, nauseous, and tired.
4) Traditional cooling and pain sunburn remedies do not seem to be working.
5) Symptoms occur within a few hours of exposure.
You are more likely to experience sun poisoning, as opposed to a simple sunburn, if you have a preexisting infection in your body or dermis. Also, if you have experienced sun poisoning in the past or have diabetes or thyroid disease, you a much more likely to be diagnosed with skin poisoning from overexposure to the sun. Some drugs, including popular birth control pills can increase your likelihood for both harsh sunburns and sun poisoning.
