Skin exposed to the sun for a long period of time suffers sunburn which makes it look less attractive even after healing. Furthermore sunburns are painful to experience and may also have long term effects. To avoid all these problems this summer and still enjoy the holidays in the sun it is wise to observe the following tips on sunburn prevention.
Sunscreen is always the best prevention of sunburns; therefore, always apply some sunscreen 10 to thirty minutes before you venture out into the sun.
If the sun is too hot and you happen to get a little sunburn, cool it down with vinegar, tea or baking soda which you can readily get from your house.
The head is usually the most affected by sunburns. For those who are bald, they have no choice but to make sure that their head is covered by a nice hat. For the others, the face and the neck are also very vulnerable to sunburns, especially for those people who don’t have long hairs to cover their ears and neck. It is therefore advisable to wear a big hat that will cover your face, your ears and your neck from the scorching sun rays. The big hat will also protect your eyes from the sun rays in case you don’t have shades.
You can also protect your legs and hands by wearing long pants and long sleeved cloths which are light enough to keep your body cool when out in the sun. this may not be very practical when going out in the beach but if you are just walking around shopping, then this type of cloths can work for you.
The lips are also very vulnerable to sunburns because they don’t have any melanin. Therefore make sure you apply some lip gel with high SPF.
