Sunburns are very common to light skinned people especially the blondes and red haired. No matter how much people are aware of the consequences of going out into the sun without a sunscreen, people still end up doing so and getting sunburns. Sunburns make your skin to look ugly with its red patches and blisters. It is furthermore a painful experience to go through as for several days you will have painful patches of skin to deal with.

Children are the most likely to suffer from sunburns and continual sunburns make the skin change its color and have uneven color pigments especially in the exposed areas.

Long term effects

The long term effects of sunburns are more severe and threatening than the short term effects. The most dreaded long term effect of sunburns is skin cancer. Even if not directly proven, too much sunburn regularly can be the perfect trigger of a skin cancer whose effects can be very fatal.

Sunburns as mentioned earlier makes the skin looks ugly, in the long run the skin will develop wrinkles very fast and end up aging faster than a skin protected from the sun. For those who have lived in the hot tropics for a long period of time have their skins turn its color to yellow and sometimes moles develop on the skin.

Once the skin layer is exposed to too much ultraviolet rays it becomes weak and the sunburn makes your skin susceptible to other skin infections which might take advantage of your blisters and sores to get into your body.
